Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Awards Ceremony

2023 Award recipients

Join us May 29th at 7pm to celebrate the classes of 2024 and 2025!

Please join us for a free and festive evening at the Mount Baker Community Club as we celebrate more than 25 recipients of our MLK, Jr. Scholarship Fund: remarkable students from our Southeast Seattle community who are receiving college scholarships to pursue their dreams for higher education.

This year marks the MLK, Jr. Scholarship Fund’s 40th anniversary, and will include a performance from the South End Pep Band – collective band members from Franklin, Cleveland, and Rainier Beach High Schools; as well as remarks from former and current scholarship recipients. It will also be a double ceremony: we will honor the Class of 2024, (currently first-years in college), and the graduating Class of 2025.*

Attending the MLK, Jr. Awards ceremony is a wonderful way to be a part of our community here in South Seattle: these bright, talented students are giving back to their communities, passionate about their goals, and determined to create a bright future. So grab a friend and join the fun as we celebrate their tremendous accomplishments and their exciting paths ahead!

To learn more about the MLK, Jr. Scholarship Fund and how you can get involved go to https://www.mountbaker.org/mlkscholarshipfund.

*Due to scholarship processing delays associated with the FAFSA rollout last year, we were unable to host a 2024 ceremony, so this year we’ll have double the fun!
