Song Church with Sari
Come one, come all! In these times of disconnection, discouragement and dreary weather, you are invited to come together for community, harmony, and hope in the form of Song Church! Song Church is a drop-in, secular singing gathering - not a choir rehearsal or performance, but a participatory evening of joyful, accessible harmony singing led by Sari Breznau. Simple, mantra-like songs designed to console, uplift and unite will be taught by rote, in four part harmony, so that even the most shy shower singer is comfortable participating. The result is a gorgeous tapestry of healing sound - there is nothing so life affirming as raising your voice together with your neighbors, for in fact, we are better together! Absolutely no experience necessary, just bring a willing heart and open mind. Each week will bring new songs, so that occasional attendance as a drop-in won't leave you feeling out of the loop. All ages, all abilities. You will be guaranteed to leave happier than you came!
$15 drop-in. Kids $10. No one turned away for lack of funds! Contact Sari for more info: saribreznau@gmail.com
About Sari:
Sari is a creative wizard, using her powers in the service of silliness, connection, and community. With a BA in music from WWU and a Masters in Choral Conducting from CSULA, Sari is convinced of the power of harmony, rhythm and group singing for healing, community building and fun. She plays bazillions of instruments, writes suspiciously catchy ditties, music directs, makes costumes and props, and loves to help people shed their musical inhibitions and belt it out. Formerly of Circus Contraption, Sari can now be seen in Bellingham's Up Up Up Inc. Crane Truck Circus, Flotsam River Circus, directing the Singing in the Rain Family Choir in Seattle, or touring with her self-help sing-along disco cult, Mantraband.
