MOUNT BAKER’S DAY IN THE PARK FESTIVAL:
IT’S NOT JUST FOR KIDS ANYMORE!
The 46th annual Day in the Park Festival is coming, Sunday September 10th, to South Seattle’s beautiful Mount Baker Park. This is a one-day event hosted by the Mount Baker Community Club and is the Club’s gift of thanks to its wonderful community. We want to thank our extended community for all its support over the past year by throwing a free party in the park!
The year’s event features:
- a Kid's Parade - lineup begins at 9:45am at Franklin High School)
- Face Painting
- Field Games
- Ezell's Express Food Truck
- Life Size Jenga in the Beer Garden
- Live Music
- Community Dance and Music Performances
- And, so much more.
Mount Baker’s Day in the Park tradition is one that can be traced back to the very beginning of the Clubhouse and the birth of the Mount Baker neighborhood -- neighbors have gathered annually for a picnic in Mount Baker Park since 1909! In 1971 the Clubhouse expanded on the tradition and hosted the first annual Day in the Park festival. That first festival featured field day competitions, prizes were given for craziest hat design and a $1 entry got you ice cream, pop and “better-than-average” draft beer. And, like today, the day began with a children’s parade.
We’ll see you there!!
This event couldn't happen without the support of these generous neighbors. Please support these great community businesses!

Day in the Park is one of our long-running, flagship programs. One Sunday, every September, the Mount Baker Community Club hosts a festival for the neighborhood at Mount Baker Park. The day kicks off with a Kids Parade down Mount Baker Boulevard, from Franklin High School, led by our local fire truck. We fill the park with games and fun for the whole family. There's live music. And, the whole community gathers for a fun day of celebration.
