ABOUT THE MOUNT BAKER COMMUNITY CLUB
Established in 1909, the Mount Baker Community Club is your Heart of Mount Baker. With Clubhouse celebrations and Club activities, you have many opportunities to intersect with neighbors on relevant issues and share in the fun year-round.
MBCC MISSION:
We believe strong connections among neighbors are key to our common humanity; our mission is to be the heart of the Mount Baker community.
GOALS:
We accomplish our mission by providing:
1. A broad array of organized activities to improve our quality of life and build community;
2. A gathering place to bring us together;
3. A forum for exchanging information that empowers residents to engage on issues of broad interest to our diverse community;
4. Representation of the community’s interests in the civic arena, in a manner responsive to the diversity of opinions that may exist on any given issue.
The Club is a 501(c) 3 non-profit membership organization, and the membership consists of everyone who lives, works or goes to school within the Mount Baker neighborhood boundaries. The day to day activities are managed by an all-volunteer board. Most of the work gets done by board committees, which include: Clubhouse Management; Finance; Development; Parks and Open Space; Zoning, Land Use and Transportation; Governance and Nominations; and Programs. We hope you'll join us and be an active part of your community! Board nominations happen year round, with elections at the annual meeting in May. Contact Rob Mohn, MBCC Governance & Nominations Chair at governancechair@mountbaker.org to find out more or to nominate a neighbor or yourself for our Board!
If Board work isn't in the cards for you this year, please consider becoming part of the fabulous Mount Baker Boosters, the volunteer team of the Club. We have one-time and longer-term critical needs like Potluck, fundraising, Pied Piper, Home Tour and more! Contact Tara at the Office at manager@mountbaker.org or call 206-722-7209.
